In 2011, actress Kate Hudson collaborated with Chrome Hearts on a jewelry collection. Friends since their teens, Chrome Hearts co-owner Laurie Lynn Stark and Hudson based the designs on vintage jewelry, and on shared vacations and experiences. In interviews, Hudson explained that she aimed to introduce a soft side to the hard-edged brand. The star pieces of the collection implemented aquamarines, pearls and 18K gold. Crafted of classic Chrome Hearts .925 sterling, this hair barrette features the Butterfly design, which appeared in various forms throughout the collection.

For your consideration this Fall, I submit the Rick Owens ankle boot ("Stitched Wedge Ankle boot" at Barneys.) With a covered platform, chunky side zipper and silver snap button
tab. The somewhat imposing 4-inch heel feels like 3 inches or less because of the miraculous platform (and the genius-made lasts). The pitch of these boots is decidedly non-threatening. The quality of the leather is excellent, with a beautiful luster. I wore them for three days in a row -- two of the days were 12-hour days -- and experienced only minor discomfort. Great with a layered look over skinny Rick Owens leggings or even bare legs. "I try to make clothes the way Lou Reed
does music, direct, with minimal chord changes, and sweet but kind of
creepy. It's about giving everything I make a worn, softened feeling.
It's about an elegance tinged with a bit of the barbaric, the sloppiness
of something dragging and the luxury of not caring." –Rick Owens
